Who Do You Think You Are Live? 2012, Where did our ancestors live, work and worship in Wales? 24- 26 February, 2012






Later this month, Royal Commission staff will be visiting London’s Olympia to take part in the world’s largest family history show. Here you will find under one roof leading genealogy experts, one-to-one sessions, information workshops and over 150 exhibitions specialising in researching your family tree. Eastenders’ Larry Lamb, TV presenter Richard Madeley and Silent Witness actress Emily Fox are among the celebrities who will also be attending – and experts from the Royal Commission!

The Royal Commission will based in stand number 307 (next to the National Library of Wales), and for three days staff will be on-hand to answer enquiries and show the public how to use Coflein, our on-line database, and access information from our archives, the National Monuments Record of Wales, which currently holds almost 2 million photographs and many thousands of drawings, surveys, reports and maps. Throughout Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 February, Royal Commission buildings expert, Richard Suggett, author of Introducing Houses of the Welsh Countryside, will be offering free surgeries on house histories. Please bring along any photographs of buildings or copies of house histories for interpretation and advice. Everyone is welcome. The full range of the Royal Commission’s current publications will be available for purchase, including Introducing Houses of the Welsh Countryside which Richard will be happy to sign. All publications will have a special 10% show discount.
